Posted by Ray Woods/Peter Yates on July 1, 2019 at 9:35 AM

Court stars Rob Robinson from Four Oaks and Richard Brittan - Staffs have reached the County semi finals of the national Bowls England Senior Pairs. They beat Richard Lewis and Richard Gaunt from Avenue Coventry at Avenue 19-12 .

This win was part of a strong period for the Court's top squad and for the Club's many other teams competing in local leagues.

In the quarter finals of the Warwickshire County Pairs Brittan and Robinson were on form again beating Ian Harrison and Graham Ashby from Nuneaton, 24:23. Court's other pair Allen Onion from Sutton Coldfield and Mark Ireland from Hodge Hill lost on an extra end 20:18 to John Collett and Fred West from Stoke. The squad now play Andrew Manning and Dave Fallon from Nuneaton on County semi-finals day which is on Sunday 7th July at Rugby Bowls Club.

In the Birmingham Bowling Association (BBA) top league, Rob Robinson was to the fore again leading his Court's 'A' team to their ninth consecutive win. They beat Handsworth Wood away 30:38 - with the Court taking the maximum 6 points.

Not to be outdone, the Court Ladies 'Yellow' team in the BBA's Ivy League chalked up another great win. The team of Pam Ellis - Four Oaks, Brenda Bosley - Erdington, Pat Court - Wylde Green and Chris Reid - Pype Hayes, were all in top form against Handsworth Wood, winning by 31 shots to 4.
